Welcome to ChessBabySteps. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of chessbabysteps.com and all related services (“Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

ChessBabySteps is a chess learning platform offering opening practice, puzzle training, endgame practice, GM game analysis, and personalized dashboard insights. The Service is operated as an independent project.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By registering, you confirm you meet this requirement.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Please notify us immediately at taya@chessbabysteps.com if you suspect unauthorized access. One account per person — accounts may not be shared.
Plans: ChessBabySteps offers two subscription options:
Free Trial
The 7-day free trial is only available with the yearly plan. You will not be charged during the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your yearly subscription begins automatically.
Billing
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Monthly subscriptions renew monthly, yearly subscriptions renew annually.
Cancellation
You may cancel at any time. You retain access until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds for unused time.
Refunds
All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
Price Changes
We reserve the right to change prices with at least 30 days notice to existing subscribers.
You agree not to:
All content on ChessBabySteps — including opening variations, descriptions, UI design, and code — is owned by ChessBabySteps. You may not copy, distribute, or use it for commercial purposes without written permission.
Chess moves themselves are not copyrightable. Puzzle data is sourced from the Lichess puzzle database (CC0 license).
If you connect your Chess.com username, we access your public game data via the Chess.com API to power dashboard insights. We do not store your games permanently.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that the Service will improve your chess rating — improvement requires practice and dedication.
Our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal and, where applicable, European Union law.
